Originally a fashion designer, having graduated from the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Art’s School of Design (kadk.dk), with a master in fashion design, Mia Marie Overgaard quickly discovered that she was more preoccupied with sketching the clothes and telling the visual story of her collections, than with the clothes itself. So naturally since her graduation, her work has revolved mostly around commercial and fashion illustration. Working with clients across the globe mostly within the lifestyle industry; home decor, beauty and fashion. Packaging, wallpaper, posters, book covers, magazines, placement print, trend forecasting and the occasional ad campaign. Mia has also instructed for the illustration programs at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts’ School of Design and the Fashion Design Academy in Copenhagen.
USA, France, Spain, UK, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark and Japan are among the locations Mias work has been exhibited.
Mias distinctive illustrations have appeared in numerous books and publications worldwide such as “The Beautiful – illustrations for Fashion & Style” published by Gestalten, “Illustration NOW 3” and “Illustration NOW! Fashion” published by Taschen.

TESTIMONIALS
“Welcome to Mia’s secret garden— detailed graphite and color drawings of nature, flowers and fantasy take over leaving the rest of the world behind. It’s a breath of fresh air when you feel transported with her lightness of being.” – Traffic Creative Management.
“Mia combines fashion and fantasy to perfection in delicate pencil and watercolor drawings, where people, animals and plants cohabit in chaotic beauty.” – Amelia’s Magazine.
“For Première Vision Accessories, Overgaard has elaborated her own graphic and poetic universe to create an artistic interpretation of the season, in particular its prominent hybrid and psychedelic vegetation theme.
She converges the animal world and plant worlds in a strange, magical atmosphere.
Her phantasmagorical and surrealistic images, which appear lifted from a dream, will add a lively new dimension to première vision accessories.” – Elsa May, Premiere Vision Paris.
